for 1 portion

1 cup milk of your choice
1 teaspoon of fresh turmeric or turmeric powder
1 cinnamon stick or ½ teaspoon cinnamon powder
1 pinch of black pepper
1 or 2 teaspoons of honey or maple syrup


  1. Put milk, turmeric, black pepper and cinnamon in a small saucepan. Add either honey or maple syrup for sweetness.
  2. Whisk and warm over medium heat. Heat until it feels hot but does not boil - about 4 minutes - stir again and again.
  3. Turn off the heat and see if you want to adjust the taste. Add a little honey or syrup or more turmeric for an intense, spicy flavour.
  4. Season with love and serve immediately
